Vin Diesel says a female Fast & Furious spin-off is coming, so here are some we'd love to see

Not to be outdone by Dwayne Johnson's upcoming Hobbs & Shaw, Vin Diesel has revealed plans for a "female protagonist driven spin-off" of the Fast & Furious.

The announcement of writers Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet joining the Fast family comes a year-and-a-half after Michelle Rodriguez threatened to leave the franchise if they didn't "show some love to the women." And speaking to EW shortly before that, Rodriguez gave her thoughts on how Fast could become more inclusive.

"First and foremost, bringing some more women on the good team, not just bringing an amazing actress to play the bad guy, and having more female camaraderie, having women do things independently outside of what the boys are doing — that is truly the voice of female independence," she said. "Now, having girls run around and do a bunch of really cool stuff, that's great, it's wonderful, but we never talk to each other. It's very rare that they even look at each other. I've been making movies with Jordana [Brewster], who plays the sister of Dom Toretto, for 16 years and I can count on one hand how many lines I've had to her. I think that's pathetic and it's lack of creativity. Guys don't know what girls talk about. They think that girls just sit around talking about guys and it's a sad truth of men being the dominant writers in Hollywood."

Thankfully, Rodriguez has been heard by the powers that be. And while there are now some talented writers involved, we still have some ideas for possible female-fronted spin-offs we'd love to see.

Letty & Amnesia

Ten years ago, it would have been confusing to learn that Rodriguez was still involved in Fast considering her beloved character Letty Ortiz seemed to be killed off in the fourth film. But, the end credits of Fast Five revealed that Letty had survived and Fast & Furious 6 saw her full return, explaining that she had gotten amnesia from the not-so deadly crash. We know that Letty was recruited by Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) during that time period, but there's room to go back and tell the story of what she was up to while Dom and the boys were in Brazil.

Gisele before she met the gang

Before Gal Gadot was Wonder Woman, she was Gisele. Gadot immediately jumped off the screen when she first appeared in Fast & Furious and her later pairing with Sung Kang's Han only enhanced the lovability of both characters. Gisele tragically died in Fast 6, but with fan's missing her and Gadot blowing up, Fast would be smart to do a Gisele origins movie.

The Shaw family matriarch

In Fast 6, we met Luke Evans' Owen Shaw and Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw. But, The Fate of the Furious is when we met the most badass member of the family: their mother, Magdalene Shaw, played by Helen Mirren. Despite being in only two scenes, the Oscar-winning actress stole the last Fast movie, and considering she's the one who campaigned to join the franchise, there's no doubt that she'd be down to lead a Shaw family film.

Where did Monica go?

Why isn't Eva Mendes in movies anymore is what I often ask myself? It seems to be by choice, with Mendes spending more of her time as a mother and businesswoman. But maybe she's ready to come out of semi-retirement to step back into the shoes of U.S. Customs agent Monica Fuentes. After having dynamite chemistry with Paul Walker in 2 Fast 2 Furious, Mendes popped back up for the previously mentioned Fast Five end credits to notify Hobbs (Johnson) of Letty's survival. But what has she been up to since? Sign me up for a Fast spin-off that teams up Mendes and Elsa Pataky, who plays DSS agent Elena Neves.

The Fast Dynasty

How about the Fast version of Creed? Jumping ahead decades, a new film could follow the adventures of Brian (Walker) and Mia's (Jordana Brewster) daughter. Following in the footsteps of the great Brian O'Conner isn't easy, but don't worry, just like Adonis had Rocky for support, Brianna will have her uncle Dom (Diesel) along for the ride.

The Fast Avengers

I don't how it would work, but just bring them all together. Like c'mon, a movie starring Michelle Rodriguez, Gal Gadot, Jordana Brewster, Eva Mendes, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren would be a smash hit. It doesn't even exist yet and I've already bought 10 tickets.
