EW's editorial guidelines Updated on September 4, 2019 The 2019 Emmy nominations are upon us, with TV stars both in front of and behind the camera announced in categories Tuesday morning by presenters D’Arcy Carden (NBC’s The Good Place) and Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians). Carden and Jeong revealed the nominees for the 71st annual Emmy Awards from the Wolf Theatre at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center during a presentation that was live-streamed online. HBO claimed the lead above competitor networks with 137 nominations, thanks in large part to Game of Thrones. Acting nods for the final season of the fantasy drama included Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Lena Headey, Gwendoline Christie, Alfie Allen, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Carice van Houten. Netflix, meanwhile, scooped up 117 nominations between Bodyguard, Russian Doll, Dead to Me, The Kominsky Method, Orange Is the New Black, When They See Us, and more. Welcome surprises include Schitt’s Creek‘s multiple nominations (as the show will come to an end with season 6), Jodie Comer’s nod for Killing Eve, and all the love given to Fleabag (from Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s performance to supporting roles from Olivia Coleman and Sian Clifford). Winners will be announced during the Emmys ceremony, to be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 22. The festivities will air live on Fox starting at 5 p.m. PT/ 8 p.m. ET.
