Sigourney Weaver will play the villain in Marvel’s The Defenders, Netflix revealed at New York Comic Con on Saturday.

Although the Comic Con panel was advertised as focusing on fellow Marvel series Iron Fist, Jon Bernthal and Deborah Ann Woll came out during the hour to tease their own show, The Punisher. Afterwards, the four titular Defenders — Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) — came out to announce Weaver’s role with the help of moderator and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb. Weaver herself also joined the rest of the cast onstage.

“Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever!” Loeb, whose past credits include writing and producing on shows like Lost and Smallville, said in a statement. “She is by definition a class act.”

“Sigourney Weaver, what more is there to say,” Cindy Holland, vice President of original content at Netflix, said. “She’s a formidable actress and we are thrilled to have her join our remarkable cast alongside Charlie, Krysten, Mike, and Finn.”
