AMC will air every Breaking Bad episode for New Year's marathon

All 62 episodes will unspool from Dec. 31 to Jan. 29 in honor of the meth drama's 10th anniversary

It’s almost time for a Breaking birthday, and AMC plans to celebrate with a marathon.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the birth of Breaking Bad, a.k.a. one of the most revered dramas in television history, the network will give you maximum meth, airing all 62 episodes of the series that turned Walter White from harmless chemistry teacher into chilling drug lord. The marathon will officially kick off on Dec. 31, unspooling the episodes in chronological order each weekend through January, wrapping up on Jan. 29.

AMC is now airing promos for the marathon that insert the 10th anniversary theme into iconic moments from the series. (For example, the season 5 flashforward with Walt making the bacon on top of his birthday eggs spells out 10 instead of 52.)

Starring Bryan Cranston as Walt, and Aaron Paul as his apprentice Jesse Pinkman, Breaking Bad ran from Jan. 20, 2008 until Sept. 29, 2013, claiming two Outstanding Drama Series Emmys. Cranston claimed four Lead Actor Emmys for his portrayal of Walt, while Paul took home three Supporting Actor Emmys as Jesse. Anna Gunn, who played Walt’s wife, Skyler, also scored a pair of Supporting Actress Emmys.

The Breaking Bad universe, of course, permeates spin-off Better Call Saul, which features slippery lawyer Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) and fixer Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks). The prequel, which debuted in 2015, will launch its fourth season in 2018.
