Millie Bobby Brown had a message for bullies when she won the Best Performance award for her work in Stranger Things 2 at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

“Since I know there are many young people watching this, and even to the adults — they could probably use the reminder, too — I was taught, if you don’t have anything nice to say, just don’t say it,” said Brown, who accepted the award via video because she couldn’t attend the ceremony, which was pre-taped held on Saturday, after splitting her kneecap. “There should be no space in this world for bullying, and I’m not going to tolerate it and neither should any you. If you need a reminder of how well you are and to rise above the hate, message me on Instagram.”

The Stranger Things actress’ powerful speech comes just days after she quit Twitter because of cyber bullying. Many Twitter users made her the subject of several homophobic memes, which attributed hateful comments to her and were often shared with the hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown. She has a second verified account @Milliestopshate, which hasn’t been updated since December.

In the video, Brown also expressed her regrets for not being able to the attend the ceremony and reflected on how much the role of Eleven has changed her life.

“To all my fans, I really wish I could be there with you all to receive this award, but sadly, I’m stuck here in Atlanta recovering from a small injury and I’m following the doctor’s orders to rest,” she said. “I want you to know how grateful I am to those who support me. It’s no secret that landing the role of Eleven in Stranger Things has changed my life in the most incredible ways. It’s afforded me the chance to work with remarkable people, especially the Duffers, Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, Iain Patterson, and Netflix, and all of the cast members.”
