Billie Eilish to perform title song for James Bond film No Time to Die

At 18, the singer is the youngest ever to perform a 007 theme.

Billie Eilish is the latest Bond girl — of sorts!

On Tuesday, it was announced that the teen sensation will perform the title song for the upcoming James Bond movie No Time To Die. At 18, Eilish is the youngest artist in history to write and record a theme song for the beloved spy franchise. As is her norm, the singer wrote the song with her older brother Finneas. The official James Bond account tweeted the news:

The singer teased her involvement with the project earlier in the week, posting on her Instagram story a gallery of female Bond actresses, including Eva Green, Halle Berry, and Léa Seydoux — who will reprise her role in No Time To Die. She later confirmed the news herself on Instagram.

The new Cary Fukunaga-directed installment sees Daniel Craig return as the titular suave English spy and introduces Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Rami Malek as the villain as well as Flash‘s Dali Benssalah, Velvet Buzzsaw‘s Billy Magnussen, Knives Out‘s Ana de Armas, Captain Marvel‘s Lashana Lynch, and Quicksand‘s David Dencik. Also returning to the franchise are Ralph Fiennes (as M), Naomie Harris (as Moneypenny), Seydeoux (as Madeleine), Ben Whishaw (as Q), Rory Kinnear (as Tanner), and Jeffrey Wright (as Felix from Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace). This will be Craig’s fifth time in the role of Agent 007 following Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre — and is expected to be his last.

By taking on the movie’s theme song, Eilish joins an acclaimed group of singers and composers that includes Dame Shirley Bassey (Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, and Moonraker), Paul McCartney (Live and Let Die), Carly Simon (“Nobody Does It Better” for The Spy Who Loved Me), Sheena Easton (For Your Eyes Only), Duran Duran (A View to a Kill) and, most recently Adele (Skyfall) and Sam Smith (“Writing’s on the Wall” for Spectre) — both of whom were nominated for an Academy Award for their songs.

No Time to Die hits theaters April 10.
