Superstore renewed for season 3

Get ready to visit cloud nine, Superstore fans: The NBC sitcom has been renewed for a 22-episode third season.

The series follows the weekly adventures of a group of employees who work for Cloud 9, a fictional superstore.

“We are extremely proud of Superstore, which is one of the smartest and funniest comedies on television today,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a statement. “Through the show’s expertly drawn characters, our producers and cast do a remarkable job touching on many issues in which audiences can relate. To its credit, not only does Superstore make us laugh, but it makes us think as well.”

The current season features Amy (America Ferrera) dealing with some marital difficulties and Jonah (Ben Feldman) figuring out his future career plans, while Garrett (Colton Dunn) and Dina (Lauren Ash) attempt to process some unexpected romantic feelings for one another. Elsewhere, Mateo (Nico Santos) navigates his secret relationship with a corporate employee, and Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom) balances being a teen mom.

Superstore airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
