Ocean's 9?

Ocean's 8 topped the box office in its first week of release, so you know what that means — it's time to talk sequel! Luckily, sequels are easy with this franchise; all you need to do is to add one number to the title and one actor to the cast. Here are our suggestings for who should join Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, and company for a potential Ocean's 9.

Gina Rodriguez

Jane the Thief? On Jane the Virgin, Rodriguez has made us laugh, cry, and smile, while Annihilation proved that she can also scare the s— out of us. But as much as we love the sweet Jane Villanueva, Rodriguez's Annihilation performance is the inspiration here, since the squad could use some muscle (no offense to Helena Bonham Carter).

Nicole Kidman

It's been quite the last year-plus for Kidman, between Lion, Top of the Lake, and her endless parade of awards for Big Little Lies. She'll stay busy with season 2 of the HBO hit, her role in Aquaman, and more, but here's hoping she could squeeze in enough time to become the team's nemesis-turned-ally, akin to Andy Garcia in the original trilogy.

Laura Dern

To be honest, we'd watch the entire cast of Big Little Lies attempt to stage a robbery. With Daphne (Anne Hathaway) now in the crew, Debbie (Bullock) and Lou (Cate Blanchett) will need to find a new unknowing target. Why does Dern fit the bill? Well, she's Laura Freakin' Dern. And secondly, Cate Blanchett needing to seduce Dern for information or access on the next job (think Matt Damon and Ellen Barkin in Ocean's 13) is too delicious not to happen.

Maisie Williams

The Game of Thrones star is definitely on our list. With the Ocean's franchise now a family affair, why not add another member to the clan? Maybe we give Debbie a spunky daughter who wants to get into the family business. And when I think spunky, I think Arya Stark.

Tessa Thompson

Maybe we just add everyone from Annihilation. Thompson has shown quite the range in her recent roles in Creed, Thor: Ragnarok, Annihilation, and Westworld. So while we won't dare box her in to a certain type of role, we don't doubt Ocean's 9 would be better with her involved.

Christine Baranski

Name one film, television show, or really anything that wouldn't be better with Queen Baranski. I'm picturing The Good Fight star as a Reuben-type (Elliott Gould), bankrolling the operation. And just imagine the necklaces she could pull off with a big-screen budget!

Rachel McAdams

Our No. 1 takeaway from Game Night might have been that Rachel McAdams is hilarious and needs to do more comedies. Ocean's obviously isn't a Wedding Crashers-type comedy, but it would let her have some fun and score more laughs than True Detective and Aloha. Ocean's 8 made everyone remember how much they love Anne Hathaway, and Ocean's 9 could do the same for McAdams.

Constance Wu

The 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards - Red Carpet

For four seasons, Wu has delighted TV audiences with her portrayal of the Fresh Off the Boat matriarch Jessica Huang, and now she's set to become a movie star with Crazy Rich Asians. With Jessica, Wu has managed to deliver one of TV's most intimidating characters, which means she'd be a natural as the head of a rival crew. And it doesn't hurt that she's already an Ocean's 8 fan.

Mackenzie Davis

2015 Winter TCA - Portraits

If you don't know Mackenzie Davis, then you'd better learn her name. The 31-year-old actress got her big break with AMC's critically beloved series Halt and Catch Fire, but over the last two years, she's memorably appeared in Black Mirror, Blade Runner 2049, and Tully. We could totally see Davis playing the sister of Sarah Paulson's Tammy, giving these films their own version of the bickering Malloy brothers (Scott Caan and Casey Affleck).

Julia Roberts

BONUS SUGGESTION! What better way to unite the franchise than to pair Danny's sister with Danny's wife? After being an integral part of the first two films, Roberts sat out Ocean's 13, but now seems like the perfect time to catch up with Tess Ocean, especially considering her loss (R.I.P. Danny?). And we could always use another Julia Roberts impersonation from Tess.
