First Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom footage shows Chris Pratt with a baby raptor

Get a load of this baby Blue!

While we're still waiting on a full-length trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the sequel's producer and the first film's director, Colin Trevorrow, released a short sneak peek at Chris Pratt's return as raptor whisperer Owen — and he's got a new carnivorous hatchling in his care.

"From our Jurassic family to yours," Trevorrow tweeted ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. In the brief, five-second teaser, Pratt is seen greeting a new baby raptor, one that looks just like his old buddy Blue. Already they're proving to be fast friends as the little guy with razor sharp teeth purrs and cuddles up against Owen's hand.

J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) directs the Jurassic World sequel, which was also co-written by Trevorrow. Pratt returns alongside Bryce Dallas Howard, original franchise star Jeff Goldblum, Ted Levine, Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, and The Get Down star Justice Smith.

Official plot details are still unknown, but there've been hints along the way.

A still image from the film revealed a mysterious, young character standing in a dinosaur fossil exhibit in a museum, while the first teaser poster sported a familiar tagline: "Life finds a way."

Trevorrow said during the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, "The dinosaurs will be a parable of the treatment animals receive today: the abuse, medical experimentation, pets, having wild animals in zoos like prisons, the use the military has made of them, animals as weapons."

He also told Wired in a 2015 interview, "Dr. Wu [BD Wong] says in the film, when he's warning Dr. Masrani [Irrfan Khan], 'We're not always going to be the only ones who can make a dinosaur.' I think that's an interesting idea that even if we don't explore fully in this film, there is room for this universe to expand."

Life, uh, will continue to find a way when Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom hits theaters on June 22, 2018.
