TV Article Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams calls out 'braless' headline By Breanne L. Heldman Published on June 6, 2016 12:00PM EDT Photo: David M. Benett/Dave Benett/Getty Images Maisie Williams isn’t afraid to defend herself as Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, and she doesn’t hesitate in real life either. When the Daily Mail posted a bunch of photos of Williams at the Summer Masquerade Ball for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, they gave it quite the headline: “Unveiled: Game of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams goes braless in sheer lace dress and quirky headpiece at charity masquerade ball.” Not surprisingly, this was not the intended effect the 19-year-old was going for as she supported such an important charity. And Williams made sure the Daily Mail knew it, posting on Twitter an “alternative” headline for the publication’s editors: “Game of Thrones actor, Maisie Williams, helps raise thousands at a Summer Masquerade Ball for @NSPCC.” Game of Thrones Exclusive EW Portraits: Queens of the Throne Age Williams recently opened up to EW about her thoughts on feminism. “We should stop calling feminists ‘feminists’ and just start calling people who aren’t feminist ‘sexist’ — and then everyone else is just a human. You are either a normal person or a sexist,” she said. “I sometimes really worry about speaking up about feminist subjects out of fear of being bashed by women on social media. And there’s something not right there… I believe in equality and I know I have more power than the average person to reach people.”
