Movies Toy Story 4 delayed by Pixar, Incredibles 2 takes its date By Marc Snetiker Published on October 26, 2016 07:20PM EDT Photo: Disney; Pixar Animation fans, adjust your calendars accordingly: Superheroes and space cowboys are making a switch. Pixar has just tweaked its release schedule slightly by swapping the dates for the studio’s upcoming sequels to The Incredibles and Toy Story. The Incredibles 2, the first follow-up to the acclaimed 2004 action original about a family of superheroes, has been moved up to June 15, 2018; it was originally scheduled for release in the summer of 2019. Original director/writer/star Brad Bird will once again oversee the film. In its place, Toy Story 4 has been pushed back a year and will be released on June 21, 2019. So far, all we know of the film is that it’s a love story between Woody and Bo Peep, inspired by the marriage of Pixar guru John Lasseter. Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are writing the screenplay. As for the rest of what you can expect from Pixar (and why you shouldn’t hold your breath for Wall-E or Ratatouille sequels anytime soon), here’s the calendar: Cars 3 – June 16, 2017 Coco – November 22, 2017 The Incredibles 2 – June 15, 2018 Toy Story 4 – June 21, 2019 Untitled Pixar Project 1 – March 13, 2020 Untitled Pixar Project 2 – June 19, 2020 According to Pixar president Jim Morris, both untitled projects are originals, not sequels.
